This Is Halloween

----> This Is Halloween <----
Go ahead and sing the song - I know you wanna. Actually...I found myself singing (and dancing) to this song at a wedding reception just this past weekend. Nightmare Before Christmas songs are a great way to bring the inner 7 year old out of a group of full grown adults lol.
The wedding was pretty darn fantastic...I mean...they lit a unity rocket folks! (Not kidding) I wish I had more photos but I got into the boxed wine! ;) Darn that boxed wine! (Shakes fist)
We all stayed out past 1 am. (Gasp you should!) What's really impressive is that we all didn't go into cardiac arrest after dancing to "Shout." We were really feeling the late 20s and early 30s. (So much jumping I tell you!) We ended our night over at Ruthie's house, and she has a massive bug collection. Because - let's mix alcohol and bugs...why not? LOL No humans or insects were harmed and I came home with two pet hissing cockroaches? How does that even happen? The husband definitely does not approve. I will spare you from photos of them. They are named Jake and Elwood. ;) At least I didn't leave with 10 - like Joy. I figured they would be a nice science-type experiment for Silas? So many question marks!

Halloween is only 2 days away...and our party is only 3 days away! I'm really looking forward to taking lots of awesome photos this week. Maybe throw in a review or two? I know I've been gone a while.

How was your Tuesday? Miri the mouse is still awake. -_O

Fall Photos

This past weekend we recreated Silas' 1st Halloween photo - this time using baby Miri. ;)
The photo was taken in the exact same location! Miri was a much more willing participant though! ;)
(Baby pumpkin baby is angry!)
Seriously - somebody needs to obviously put a stop to all the cuteness going on right here! ;)

I know it's a gloomy addition to the end of this cheery post - but this quote from "Doctor Who" last night really struck a chord with me. The past year has been hard...
The universe has to move forward. Pain and loss, they define us as much as happiness or love. Whether it's a world, or a relationship... Everything has its time. And everything ends.

Lee County Fair

It's going to be a short and sweet post tonight. :) I am one super tired mama! We took the kids to the fair this fine evening and I have a few cute photos that I want to share with you guys.

The nice "carnival man" was kind enough to let Silas post for a picture on the mechanical bull. Believe it or not - this is the first one of these bulls I have ever seen. Shocking right? I mean I live in Alabama...come on. ;)

I love this one of my dad and Miri. She loves her PaPa Buzz. :)

I hope everybody has a spectacular Saturday! I'm going to try to do two more posts this weekend!

Snapshot | Sunday

We don't play around when it comes to making homemade guacamole. We went to two different grocery stores just to pick out the avocados lol. Massive quantities are where it's at folks. ;)

Snapshot | Saturday

I thought that since this weekend is a fabulous (much needed) three day weekend - I would do a photo post each day. We slept till almost 1pm lol, so today's entry won't have too many pictures. (We were so tired) Our Saturday has been all about relaxing, homemade pizzas, corn hole, and various adult beverages. It has been glorious. How is your weekend going so far? :)

8 years married :)

Today I'm dedicating my post to my oh so sweet husband - Matt. 8 years ago I married a music man...
(This is one of my favorite photos from the wedding)
Instead of littering this post with a million pictures of us from over the years - I thought a collage would be better for everyone lol. I hope you guys have a good chuckle at the awkward teenage photos.

I could not have asked for a better husband/baby daddy in a million years. Everything he does - he does it for his family. He works his booty off to make sure we have everything we need. I'm not sure what we would do without him. He is so supportive of me in all of my ventures - especially this blog. (When lot's of people don't understand it) Some people think getting married at 18 years old is crazy...and that's just fine. I love you Matt! ...I look forward to many more shenanigans with you. ;)

Enough with the sappy posts! I will have a proper review up tomorrow! I hope everybody is having a pleasant Tuesday. Matt is taking me out for crepes tonight, so I'm pretty stoked about that.

Silas Sunday

I took these yesterday at my parent's house with the Olympus E-410 camera. :) Not too shabby! These were taken shortly after we had a failed attempt to visit the Montgomery Zoo. (They were closed) We wanted to go see the new baby rhino named Ethan. Silas got very upset and cried when they wouldn't let us in. (It was a total mom fail lol) I should have called before we drove all the way over there. Oh well - we will see Ethan some other time. I hope everybody is having a nice weekend!

Kohls Haul | LC Lauren Conrad & Princess Vera Wang

Wednesday night I got bored and decided to go stroll through the sale section at Kohls. I totally hit the jackpot! Check out this amazing LC Lauren Conrad dress! (Please excuse the bad photos - my hubby took them lol.) I just had to share my deal. My receipt says I saved a total of $59.00!

LC Lauren Conrad dress - $24.00 (Clearance)

I went to the dressing room and tried the dress on and it fit like a glove. Love at first sight I tell you. :) I don't know much about Lauren Conrad besides the fact that her clothing line is amazing. She has this book too. Every piece is very much my style. Another thing I would like to mention about Kohls is their fabulous coupons they mail out. I happened to have a 30% off coupon with me on this trip. (Sassy snap)

--------------------
The second item I picked up is this funky Princess Vera Wang necklace. It's not just a deer necklace - it's a deer wearing pink earrings necklace.

It's more expensive online.
Photo taken from Kohls.com
This line of Vera Wang jewelry is super fun and funky. When I was checking out the cashier said "oh, this is unique." That comment could be either good or bad lol. Whatever! I like it and that's all that matters. I think this trip to Kohls was very successful! :)

My grand total was $30.00, and then my coupon took off $9.00. After tax my grand total ended up being $22.89.

Review | L'Oreal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara

Let me start off by saying that I have stubby disappointing lashes. It is something that I have just had to come to terms with over the years. What else isn't fair? The fact that my husband and son have the most amazing lashes I've ever seen. Ugh, life. So...I have spent countless dollars in the search for the perfect mascara, only to end up disappointed. Folks, I have an announcement...I have found a mascara that finally makes me happy!
$8.99

This little gold tube has started popping up all over youtube recently, and for good reason. Why L'Oreal decided to not stamp their name on it I'm not sure. I have seen many a review where they can't remember the actual brand of the mascara. It's L'Oreal people! I'm so stinking impressed with it. :)

If you look closely you can see the fibers mentioned in the name. Want another plus? It's waterproof! I have found it to be very long lasting and it doesn't end up all over my face at the end of the day. (I hate when that happens) To my knowledge, it is only available in two shades. I'm a "blackest black you can get" kind of a girl. You can't tell in the above photo but the precision brush is a little angled. I find it very easy to apply. You end up with a more dramatic effect if you have multiple coats. (Let it dry in-between) Also, L'Oreal claims it is Ophthalmologist and allergy tested. I need to let my Mom know about that...she was asking about it. She has very finicky eyes.

This photo isn't the best representation of the product. It was really hard to get a good shot. I'm hooked on the fibers. I don't think I will ever have a mascara without them ever again. My only complaint is that it is a little difficult to take off. But I think it's worth the extra effort. ;) Go out and get some of this stuff and let me know what you think below.

Review | Schwarzkopf got2b Oil-Licious Golden Shimmer Conditioner

I figured I would start my post with my Silas Sunday photo. :) I took this yesterday with my new Canon PowerShot A4000 camera. So far I'm pretty pleased with it. Now, on to the review!

I'm always drawn to got2b products, they always have such fun packaging. The price is never bad either. Here is my most recent purchase.

When I first spied these at Wal-mart, I almost bought the conditioner as well as the shampoo. I'm really glad I didn't. After years of damaging my hair...like really damaging it lol...(My friends and family could tell you some stories) I consider myself a bit of a conditioner connoisseur. (Conditioner snob maybe?) Like I said before A+ on the packaging, I also enjoy the smell. It claims to have "Triple Oils of argan, white grape seed and marula." It sounds great, because I'm a huge fan of argan oil. I gave this product several chances to impress me but it just didn't happen. I even tried varying amounts every time I would shower. :( It isn't very creamy and proved really hard to apply, even with my shower comb. It didn't make my hair softer, it just made it feel disgusting. (Sad times) It just left my hair looking dull and unclean. I didn't notice any "improved shine" that it claims to provide. I plan on giving it to my sister later today. Even thought she will probably hate it too lol. (She has really long Taylor Swift hair, I'm super jealous) Plus, let the photo below speak for itself.
See it? When you see it you read it like Dory from Finding Nemo, even though it isn't spelled correctly lol. My husband did the exact same thing as I did when he saw it. Escape'! This spelling error just adds to my disappointment with the product. [le sigh]

Before I go I have to mention a eyeshadow that I purchased a couple of days ago. (This one is positive!) This is going to be short and sweet because I already did a full review for another shade. (Here) This one is #30 Pomegranate Punk from the Maybelline Color Tattoo line.

See, I wasn't lying when I said I wanted to go grab all the other colors. I purchased this shade from CVS and the Emerald shade off eBay. I will post pictures when that one arrives in the mail.

Isn't it lovely? I can't get enough of these! :)
I hope the rest of your weekend is fabulous! We are headed to a Mad Men party tonight. Photos later!
